Our Favorites from the Met Gala

Monday, April 7th, marked the Met Gala. This event put on by Vogue celebrates the annual opening of the Costume Institute by the Metropolitan Art Museum. It has been nicknamed the Oscars of the East and showcases the world’s most dazzling celebrities in daring and oftentimes brilliant gowns. The 2012 trends of peek-a-boo lace and dark lips were noticeable. I wouldn’t be surprised if some fall brides started rocking plum lips.

One of the trends we thought to highlight was the bridal appropriate fascination with lace and sheer fabric.

Mirror Mirror starLily Collins looked lovely and fresh-faced in a demure lace Valentino Haute Couture gown. Sofia Vergara dazzled in a silver embroidered Marchesa column dress with pleated tulle bodice. We love the fit. Scarlett Johansson was sexy chic in her nude off shoulder fit and flare gown with pearl embroidery.

Camilla Belle donned a sweet and sultry ivory tulle-and-beaded dress. We love the sheer accents. French actress Marion Cotillardmixes elegant ombré with a superdaring sheer skirt in a Dior Haute Couture gown. The ever edgy Rooney Mara wore Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci style. This gown would be stunning in ivory, especially with all that delicate lace.

Comedienne and actress Kristin Wiig wore an A-line orange Stella McCartney lace number with two-tone platform pumps.

Other favorites included Beyonce, Heidi Klum, and Emma Roberts!
