3 Tips for Wedding Dress Shopping

While romantic comedies make wedding dress shopping look glorified dress up, once you've done it, you'll realize that this is a fairy tale manufactured by bridal salons and Hollywood! Dress stopping is hard, but here are three ways to make it work!

1. Dress Code

Did you know that you need to wear certain articles of clothing? When you prepare to try on dresses, you not only need to bring the undergarments you'll be wearing that day (the same kind of bra, spanx). This will change how the material drapes over your body and give you a better idea how a dress fits.

You also need to bring along the pair of shoes that you will be wearing on your big day. Heels make you taller (you don't want a dress that has too long of a hem or too short), and they also change how you stand.

2. Keep It Cozy

You should bring at most two guests with you. Many bridal salons too small to accommodate that many people, and too many different opinions can be counterproductive.

3. Stick to Your Budget

Many brides forget to take nto account the cost of alterations and accessories in addition to the cost of their wedding gown and therefore go into the red. Have a defined price range that your dress falls within and stick to it!
