What is a Trunk Show

We're now midway through Trunk Season! While many vendors sell their merchandise through trunk shows, they're especially big in the wedding industry. Every year from January to May, wedding designers showcase their collections at bridal salons. Trunk shows got their name because the dresses used to be transported in trunks.

Why go to a trunk show?

Most trunk shows have a 20% discount on all wedding gowns. Designers often throw in extras like an alteration for free. Also, since space is limited, you often have more one-on-one time with the consultants and the designer. This means that even if you don't end up purchasing, their advice and feedback can help you find the perfect dress for you!

How do you find a trunk show?

Call your local bridal salons and ask for a list of dates. The shows are often books months in advance and you'll have to call early to reserve an appointment.

What should you bring?

As with any bridal shop visit, remember to bring appropriate underwear and a pair of heels that are approximately the height that you plan to wear for your wedding. In addition, bring a trusty critic.
