Ask the Girls: Christmas
Your wish list

We asked, you answered!
Our question for the week was to ask the Brides to finish the sentence: All I want for Christmas is
Mariah's chart topping single in 1994, All I want for Christmas is you is still one of the most popular songs during the festive season.
As a child, I had a list to Santa that stretched from San Francisco just to the border of Mexico. The list had everything on it, from ponies to Barbie dolls, frisbees and EZ-bake ovens. As I got older things like high-top sneakers, make-up and the New Kids On The Block album found their way onto the list.
Although Christmas is now well and truly over, it took us a few weeks to go through all the answers to best sum it up.
Heres what we found:
Pre-engagement, most of our ladies agreed that Mariah summed it up for us quite well: that all we want for Christmas is to be with our loved one.
Post-engagement, now that we all have The One, what do we want?
A few wanted a nice honeymoon, some mentioned a cheaper reception/band/dress would be nice, others hinted for their mortgage to be paid off.
Not to sound like the Grinch or anything, but Im pretty sure the elves dont do mortgage repayments out at Santas workshop.
Everything on the Bridal Wishlist to Santa revolved around a common theme: Our brides all want to have their dream wedding. The dreams ranged from being completely extravagant, complete with choreographed dance, down to the simplicities of a wedding with just family and a few close friends.
While some argued that an extravagant wedding wasnt necessary and made us seem materialistic, others saw the romantic side of things and said that us girls just want to celebrate our love the best way we can. Awwwww!
I guess you could say that at SimplyBridal, we're like the Santa of the bridal world. Recently we simultaneously had 3 competitions running: our Facebook comp, and 2 others through RocknRollBride.com and WeddingChicks.com
Our competition ended on Christmas Eve, with 21 brides all receiving their Christmas gift a few short hours later: A free wedding dress.
Ok sure, its not Angelina-adopting-babies, but being able to do something good made us feel really warm and fuzzy inside. Which got us thinking maybe what we really want for Christmas, is for others to be happy?
Despite predictions of the worlds end this year, were looking forward to all stories of love, all the wedding pix that will be posted and all the support from our brides in 2012!
Merry Christmas!
