Beach Wedding Dresses

Find a gown that allows you to frolic in the sand

There is nothing sexier than a bride sauntering down the aisle, barefoot in the sand. The bride looks naturally beautiful as she is met with stunning views, the horizon and the sound of crashing waves.

For these reasons, beaches have all the elements of a perfect wedding venue. Now, the wedding dress needs to follow suit. Where to begin? Of course, it isn't feasible to parade around in a bejeweled ball gown in the hot sun. Instead, you want to opt for lightweight, airy fabrics.

Beach weddings are very popular right now, which means there are plenty of choices for that sensual and sophisticated gown.

Some of the fabrics that you want to go with are chiffon, cotton, organza, satin, and tulle. Chiffon wedding dresses are popular choices for beach brides because the fabric offers an understated elegance. These are gowns that enhance natural beauty. Remember, simplicity is key here.

As for silhouettes, slim line wedding dresses tend to be preferred for beach weddings, but many different styles can work. Just be sure to choose a wedding dress that billows gently to the floor. If you do wed on the beach, consider adding white flowers to your hair. But avoid too many embellishments that will look unnatural or heavy in a beach setting.

Try to also steer clear anything that will make you feel hot and uncomfortable. Ball gowns and long trains with lots of fabric and layers need to be avoided, along with fabrics like velvet. You will look out of place because these styles and fabrics are for cold environments or indoor events. Beach weddings tend to be casual, so your attire should reflect this.
