Destination: Love
All journeys have secret destinations of which the traveler is unaware. - Martin Buber

With the SimplyBridal team dedicating last week to all things travel related, I couldn't help but let my own mind wander aimlessly about travelling the world with my new husband.
While I still have a long list of things to accomplish before my big day, the talk I had with my sister last week and seen me slowly getting over the anxiety of preparing for the ceremony. I decided to take a short break from all the planning, wedding dress shopping, and work on something a little more exciting: my honeymoon.
The most difficult thing to factor in, would naturally be the cost of the whole trip. Would we be able to afford to go somewhere exotic and nice, without having to return to a diet of instant ramen for the rest of our lives? Not the best way to start a marriage, I think.
For me personally, having grown up in California, I'm no stranger to the beach. In fact, I love it, and wouldn't want to be anywhere that didn't have surf and sand. My husband-to-be, on the other hand, lives for adventure: trekking, rafting, bungee jumping...anything that stares death in the face, I guess.
While my idea of the perfect honeymoon would be centered around lying in the sun doing nothing, his idea would involve plummeting off the side of a mountain or swimming in shark infested waters.
I wondered if anyone had this sort of dilemma when deciding where to honeymoon, and asked our Facebook Brides.
Like me, most of SimplyBridal's Facebook brides all dream of beachy honeymoon, with the occasional bride eager to step out of her comfort zone and head off on a camping trip in the woods.
Not a single bride mentioned what her husband wanted though, and I couldn't help but wonder: Is a honeymoon really just a female-centric holiday?
I decided to incorporate some of my to-be hubby's wants and needs, and turn it into one epic vacation that'd leave us both smiling from ear to ear.
I poured over countless number of websites, taking in every detail, weigh out out all the costs, and finally I came up with the perfect destination for a honeymoon with lots of tanning action (for me), plenty of dangerous death traps (for him) and an abundance of romantic moments (for us) all while staying within our budget: Thailand.
From sunning on the islands, to parasailing and rappelling (also known as abseiling), from elephant treks to romantic dinner on the beaches and exploring the unknown.
I can't wait!
