Dress Like Meryl Streep
Mature and marvelous

Meryl Streep at the age of sixty-two is still gorgeous and elegant... AND on the cover of the January 2012 edition of Vogue>.
So what wedding takeaways can we learn from the indomitable and amazing Meryl Streep? Plenty! Even though she claims to know nothing about fashion, she seems to know it all about being over fifty and looking fabulous. We loved her gold foil print dress was paired with a gorgeous oversized Stella McCartney winter warmer that she wore last month. The dress added a lot of color, but Streep kept things from getting out of hand with a beautifully structured jacket. While her younger co-stars often go va-va-voom with figure hugging evening gowns on the red carpet, Streep keeps things simple, classic, and often effortless.
However, even spring blooms can take a page out of Streep's style book. She clearly favors neat hair that still shows off her impeccable bone structure and clothes that hint (rather than boast) that she's still got it. Whether the bride, bridesmaid, or mother of the bride, clothing that fits well is one of those things that can make or break a look. Look for jackets that sculpt rather than reveal. I wouldn't go as far as to talk about smoke and mirrors, but a thick belt can often accentuate or give an illusion of a waist. A high collar disguises a less than mint condition neck and cap sleeves flatter almost all arms. But resist the urge to cover up completely!
Erase even the whisper of dowdiness with a few statement pieces, which might range from a bright patterned frock or a pair of earrings that might of been stolen from Marie Antoinette, herself.
And ladies, who wants to look like a girl when she can look like woman?
