Five Tips for a Healthier Wedding

By Natalie Tsang
November 25, 2011

Like any other major event in your life, weddings cause a far amount of stress. Not only do you have to plan the most important day of your life, but you also have to look fabulous on the big date. Help

An apple a day

Did you know an apple a day can help you lose weight? If you replace one snack a day with an apple or another piece of fruit, you'll feel more satisfied while consuming less calories. It might take a while for your taste buds to adjust, but try munching on an apple the next time you feel hungry.

Water

Eight glasses of eight fluid ounces is a lot, but staying well-hydrated helps your skin and may even give you more energy. If the taste of water is too bland, try natural, calorie-free additives such as lemon, cucumber, and basil.

You can also drink herbal tea, but don't replace all your water with caffeinated teas.

Walk twenty minutes a day

Although the pounds won't be melting off, walks are really beneficial in other ways. In our busy busy lives, we rarely have "me time." I find even a short walk offers much needed thinking time and when I get home I'm much more relaxed.

Establish a bedtime routine

Let's face it. Sometimes there's not enough time to sleep as much as you need. You just need to maximize the hours that you have. Do you sometimes lie awake at night, because your brain is a buzz with all the things you need to do?

Laugh

Studies have shown that laughter reduces anxiety and fear, relieves stress, and boosts your immune system. It's also fun! Schedule humor and laughter into your daily life to keep your feeling your best.
