Garden Weddings
Welcome to our Friday series. Each month we bring you a multi-part blog series centered around one or two themes. This June our theme is "garden." Summer is full of outdoor weddings and we'll be keeping up to speed to the most popular garden wedding trends!
Last winter, one of my friends spent a week with her husband on a lemon farm and raved about the experience. They spent the week in a rustic converted farmhouse and had wonderfully fresh fruit and eggs. "You could have a fabulous wedding," she said, and that started the little wheels in my brain turning.
Although it's too late to reserve it for this year, many fruit orchards or working farms can host weddings. Orange, apple, and lemon orchards are just a few picturesque locations. The trees heavy with fruit provide the perfect backdrop for portraits, and the smell can be heavenly!
The reception dinner can feature the locally grown fruit, veggies, milk, eggs, and even cheese. You can even give yourself a pat on the back for supporting the agriculture community.
If you're a farmer's daughter deep down at heart or love the idea of a rustic wedding with antique milk jugs and distressed wooden tables then this is the venue for you!
