National Park Weddings

Outdoor Wedding

Welcome to our Friday series. Each month we bring you a multi-part blog series centered around one or two themes. This June our theme is "garden." Summer is full of outdoor weddings and we'll be keeping up to speed to the most popular garden wedding trends!

Today we're going to talk about tying the knot in nature's garden in the form of national, state, and regional parks. So what is a national, state, or regional park? This is a piece of land that the government owns and maintains. It often contains gorgeous landscapes and low prices. Many offer recreational opportunities such as fishing, swimming, kayaking, and hiking, which is great for any couple who loves roughing it.

This is also a great choice for couples who are very focused on environmentally friendly weddings. Since parks are often protected grounds, a portion of the fees involved in renting or using the property or acquiring the permit go to preserving this beautiful landscape.

However, one of the drawbacks of such a wedding are its restrictions. Because national parks contain one or more natural ecosystems, there are often limits on how much noise is permitted. Seating and parking may be restricted and pets are often not allowed. Check carefully if you can even have your ceremony at your favorite spots.
