Smell is one of the most powerful triggers for memory, so it makes sense that to select a special scent for your wedding day. Although some women use their favorite perfume, others buy something specific for their wedding day. Therefore, every time they wear it, they're reminded of that special moment.
First and foremost, there's a few different types of perfumes. There's solid perfume, eau de toilette, and eau de parfum. From the name, you can tell that solid perfume has a firm consistency and will disappear when rubbed into the skin. Eau de toilette and eau de parfum is differentiated by the percentage of perfume oils present. This varies from company to company but eau de toilette always has less. Eau de toilette has typically 5 to 10% of aromatic compounds, while parfum has 15 to 20%.
One of the things you need to know about perfume is that the scent changes over time and depending on your specific body. Some scents may smell great initially but disappear within a few hours. It's important to experiment with a few different scents. Dab one on each wrist and sniff throughout the day.
