Hi there! My name is Jenna and I won my wedding gown from Simply Bridal. I really still cannot believe it as I had never won anything before, and I was shopping in Goodwill the Friday before I won my magical gown.
I'm from Florida and my new husband, Andy is from Chicago. We met at a restaurant I use to own. Every time he worked, I'd say "Oh yeah, my boyfriend is working tonight." I never expected to fall in love, but from the first time we held hands, there were sparks and mutual admiration. We fell in love over cafe con leches (sometimes Shiraz) at our favorite park, where we later got engaged.
After he asked me, we turned the corner and someone had built an alter and pews out in the wilderness where we had taken our first nature walk a year prior. We will renew our vows here.
"He is the horizon to my sky, the smile to my face, the water to my ocean...Winning this GOWN would be the icing on OUR wedding cake. I love him more today than yesterday and can't wait for ALL of our tomorrows."
These were the words that won me my dream gown. I heard about the contest on Facebook, entered on Sunday and won on Tuesday. Andy was watching TV right next to me when I received the message from Simply Bridal about winning...it took me a couple minutes to tell him!
Picking the dress: I browsed for a while before asking my friends, mom and cousin, but in the end, went with my gut and chose my favorite one from the website. It was waiting for the dress to arrive that wasn't easy!
Our wedding was on Little Palm Island on 1/23/12. We decided to go away, just the two of us to get married and honeymoon. It truly was like our own private island, and the most romantic thing we ever experienced!
