Earlier this month we gave away twenty gowns to twenty awesome brides-to-be. We were blown away by the romantic stories that we had to feature some of them. Here are a few of our favorites:
Melissa Reidy
My fiance Larry Lindsley and I met when we were kids. Our dads are good friends so I've known him forever, but I never thought we would end up together. After years of us doing our own things we finally came together and fell in LOVE. Before we started dating he wanted to ask for my dad's permission, so he did and was told ok. I thought it was funny but sweet. We dated for awhile and unexpectedly got pregnant, but wouldn't change that for anything. Our son was born premature and when you think you could never be closer than you already are with your partner, you're wrong. This brought us even closer together than before. We have now been together for five years and still counting.
Heather Hardee
We first met in Jr High at a track meet. He says he made me laugh and fell for my smile. Our paths crossed here and there over the next few years of school until we finally landed in the same class his senior year. We liked each other but were both too shy to step up and say it so the opportunity passed us by. Years later we reconnected, on Facebook of course, and our friendship grew into something bigger, deeper and more amazing than I could ever have imagined. Our original wedding plans were postponed when my dad was diagnosed with cancer so winning this competition would go a long way toward helping our dream wedding come true.
Tracy Fisher
My fiance and I met at work. We both work in the county courthouse, however we work in different fields and on different floors. After only seeing him one or two times in 1 1/2 years working at my job he suddenly was doing a lot more work with some other people in my office. He starting stopping to chat with me when he came in (I was the receptionist at the time). We have a secured entry to the office I work at and we started making a game out of who could get the door open faster, me with the button or him with his badge. My fiance says that once I started a tally sheet of who was winning he knew he may be safe to ask me out. So after almost 2 years of him not even knowing I existed a mere five floors above him our love story began.
Lori Jean Rielly
I met my Fiance working at SDSU, as an executive Secretary, and he was the Superintendant of the Construction Co., doing all the tenant improvements. I used to run to him and talk to him about my crush on another guy there. At some point, I realized that I didn't like that guy anymore and I liked Merlin so we fell in love and have been together for 9 yrs. He is an Army Vietnam War Veteran. He has suffered for years with PTSD and with a lot of work has it for the most part under control and is now doing very well. I have been in recovery for almost 30 months now, from alcoholism. We have gone through a lot together and are much better people for it, but are as much in love, even more so today. We are planning to get married in the near future.
