Actually Channing, I want to know exactly what you do for them twenty dollar bills.
It's no secret that no one actually cares what the movie Magic Mike is about. But a movie where Matthew McConaughey is the least attractive cast member? Well, that's something I'd line up for. Twice.
I can pretty much guarantee that the rise of popularity in male strippers has gone up exponentially since the release of Magic Mike, with my fiance's cousin's bachelorette night falling into that oddly titillating statistic.
I think the husband-to-be was a little concerned of what could be going on in that darkened area of space, pumping music with a bass so loud it could bring a dying horse back to life, and of course, the gyrating men on stage, all sporting bodies of greek gods just begging to be touched. After all, we all know what happens in the regular strip clubs that men love so much, and it's almost standard practice for the brotherhood to visit them before sending off one of their own into a world of married life. Surely on the female side of things, things could get equally as raunchy and risque?
I'm not a fan of male strippers, to be honest with you. They make me wildly uncomfortable, and I'm always scared I'll end up accidentally seeing a body part I'm not supposed to see. I know the finance would not be impressed if I were to catch a glimpse.
It begs the question, then. Do you need to set out rules and boundaries for yourselves, when going out for that one last (figurative) bang? Do you draw a line somewhere? I asked our Facebook Brides, with a very unsurprisingly high number of women saying they understand exotic dancers will be involved at the bachelor night, with the line being 'look but no touching'. And no spending over $20, added one bride.
About 40% of our brides admit they are now curious to visit a male strip club after seeing Magic Mike, while 40% decided it was too seedy, and 20% remained undecided if it's a possible destination for their night out. Of those ladies who are considering seeing a show, about 90% swear to be on the best behavior, while a cheeky 10% agree it's their last night out and they will make it count!
Whatever you choose to do on your last night out with your girls, make it one to remember. And if there's a little Mike involved...well, that's just pure Magic =)
