The Post- Wedding Blues

Did you know that it's not uncommon to have feelings of depression after the wedding? After months and even years of dreaming up your big day, there's a huge hole left in your life. And the hubby is often no help. One newlywed husband once said to me, "The best thing about being married is not wedding planning every weekend!"
So, what's a girl to do? According to Psychology Today, one out of ten women might feel some post nuptial blues. The trusty psychologists found a trend. Brides who saw their wedding as their end goal felt more down than brides who saw it as an exciting new chapter. So it seems that for mild cases, changing your perspective would help you feel happier. Your wedding can still be the biggest baddest bash you've ever thrown, but there are all these new things lurking on the horizon!
In the mean time, here are some things that might brighten your mood.
1. Plan your next adventure. (It doesn't have to be a big one).
You're probably an expert on planning things now. Perhaps you can focus on planning your next trip or putting a party for a significant person in your life or occasion. You can pick up a new hobby or one that fell off the wayside in the rush of wedding planning.
2. Tell Your Hubby.
Chances are that he's already noticed that something is wrong. Rather than having him worry and guess, just tell him you're feeling a bit low and can be more supportive.
3. Get help if you need it.
Sometimes the post-wedding blues is bad enough to require professional help. Other times, you might just need the support of family and friends.
