The Princess and the Frog

There is no way in this whole wide world, I would ever, ever, ever, I mean never, kiss a frog. Yuck! The Princess and the Frog, Disney, 2009.
Im pretty sure this is how many of us felt many years ago, when we were mere kids and our mothers/sisters/someone-older-and-wiser-than-us told us the story of The Frog Prince.
Although having been through many adaptations over the years, The Frog Prince is the tale of a prince who has been turned into a frog through some kind of voodoo spell. The only way to break this spell, is to get a kiss from a princess.
Metaphorically speaking, were all princesses, who kiss a lot of frogs [or in my case, a few other unappealing amphibians], hoping that one of them will turn into the prince we dreamed of.
Ahhh the first kiss. One of the most important parts of a date [whether it be the first or the tenth] that really determines if a relationship will go any further.
Here at the SimplyBridal office, we girls have giggled and gagged over stories of disastrous first dates and first kisses.
Well, most of us have. One of the girls - lets call her BreeAnn - BreeAnn used to giggle with us, but never actually contributed any stories of her own.
Just recently, BreeAnn and her long time prince Logan got engaged. Of course, celebrations were had in the office, and then us girls got silly and started prying her with questions.
So, how many frogs did you have to kiss before finding this prince?
We almost all fell through the floor when BreeAnn innocently replied None. Logans my first.
At first we didnt believe her. I mean, in this day and age, who is fortunate enough to find their one true love on their first go?
We took it to our Facebook brides and heres what we found:
26% of you have kissed only 1 frog, who immediately turned into your prince.
Oh but I am green with envy.
29% of SimplyBridals Facebook brides have kissed a few frogs before finding The One.
22.5% kissed several frogs. Id be willing to bet there were a few real toads in that mix.
The remaining 22.5% stated that it was far too many, or theyd loss count, or that girls dont kiss and tell, either out of courtesy or shame.
Couldnt really blame them. After counting my own figure [which almost put me to sleep it was like counting sheep!] Im fairly confident I carry enough shame for those 22.5% of girls who wont disclose a rough number.
Shame aside though, were so happy for BreeAnn and 26% of our brides. To find The One is already a feat in itself. To get it right on the first go? Well, thats pure Disney Magic.
