If you're considering having an MC to host your wedding festivities, how do you pick one? Speaking from personal experience, I've been to weddings where the groom's best friend also served as host and everyone could not stop laughing. A goodnatured ribbing can be an amazing and memorable thing. On the other hand, an MC who is not funny can be boring or even offensive.
Whether you hire or ask a friend to emcee, you should read through his or script beforehand. If you want things to remain a surprise, then ask one of your friends to read it through first. If you want to preserve the show for all your buddies, have two or three friends to split up the script so everyone will be surprised.
