What to Pack in Your Purse for Your Honeymoon

When packing for a honeymoon, it is easy to think of the clothing and toiletries you might need to bring, but which are the most essential items to have on your person? Important documents, valuables, and medication are the most crucial items to carry in your purse, but you should include anything that you cannot afford to be without, as long as it meets the airline's carry-on requirements. By carrying important items with you, if your checked bags are misplaced by the airline, you won't have to scramble to replace medications or important documents while on your honeymoon.
Travel documents are too important to risk losing in checked luggage. Before heading to the airport, check your wallet for all necessary credit cards, and make sure that your driver's license, passport, or government identification is handy to make airport security go as smoothly as possible. Carry your airline tickets and/or boarding passes with you, as well as your hotel confirmation details. Before departing, write a list of important numbers, such as your family doctor or relatives that you may need to get in touch with in the event of an emergency, and keep it in your wallet, just in case your phone is lost or stolen.
Medication is another thing that you don't want to be without on vacation. Prescription medication should be stored in it's original package, as the airline will check to make sure that the name on the prescription matches the name on your airline ticket. Over-the-counter medications can be packed in a purse as well, but liquid medicines, such as Pepto Bismol, should be packed in your checked luggage.
In general, it is not a good idea to pack valuables in your checked luggage. Valuable items will be safer if they are with you. Cameras, jewelry, and cash, are all items that should be tucked into a handbag or small carry-on, although it is sometimes wise to stash a little bit of cash in each bag, just in case.
Finally, bring something to combat boredom during your flight. For most people, a book is sufficient, while others will want to bring a hand-held gaming system or music player. Before going to the airport, do a final check to ensure that all of your valuables, medications, and important documents are packed into your purse or carry-on luggage. This way, if your checked luggage is lost, your entire honeymoon will not be ruined.
