The song you choose to walk down the aisle to is as personal as the dress, the location, and the theme. So it’s no surprise that when we asked our ladies what song they would be walking down the aisle to we were met with tons of different choices, nearly every response was different. Only two of our ladies choose to walk down the aisle to the same song, the “Wedding March”, but they chose different versions; Lela is walking down to the traditional version and Briana walked down to a version by Journey’s Jonathan Cain.
A few of you chose classic songs from the past like Jennifer who chose “Let it Be” by The Beatles and Brandy who chose “Here and Now” by Luther Vandross, and others chose piano instrumental or orchestra versions such as Amanda who chose “Faithfully” by Journey and Tonya who will be going down the aisle to “Canon in D”.
While classic songs were a big majority, there were also many of you who went with a modern slow song like Susan who chose “Love me Tender” by Norah Jones and country songs like Alyssa who picked “Never Ever and Forever” by Lee Ann Womack and Kenny Chesney and Dee who wants to walk down the aisle to the theme song of True Blood. Let’s not forget the charming beats of soul music, Tenille chose “Old Lovas” by Dwele.
We were thrilled to see the creativity and the thought put into all the songs our fans were choosing Lori actually recorded herself and her mother singing “Mama, He’s Crazy” because “the song describes how I felt when I met my husband” and how her mother was there to help her through the good and the bad. Jamie’s walking down to the Masters theme song, “Augusta” because her husband is a professional golfer.
What’s obvious is that today’s weddings are indeed more personalized and our fans are serious about making sure their special day is uniquely theirs. While going through the list we enjoyed a lovely afternoon of finding all the songs on youtube and playing them in the office. We discovered a lot of beautiful music that we never heard before and even got some inspiration for our own weddings.
Thanks to all of you who told us what song you were walking down the aisle to. Stay tuned for our upcoming question.
