SimplyBridal Presents Fashion Week-Inspired Looks for Fall 2012

SimplyBridal, an online wedding retailer, is releasing its list of fall wedding trends of 2012 inspired by last month’s New York Fashion Week.

Los Angeles, CA

March 20, 2012 is the place to check out exquisite wedding and bridesmaid dresses at competitive prices. After a month of fantastic fashion shows, SimplyBridal is commenting in on which runway trends will become bridal must-haves.

“Many Fall 2012 looks will move from the runway to the wedding aisle. In a continuation from Spring 2012, many designers still heavily featured white and pastel gowns. Patterned gowns, a favorite for bridesmaid dresses, also had a strong showing,” said SimplyBridal contact Harper Butler.

SimplyBridal’s Five Fall Wedding Trends

1. Florals
Rodarte, Derek Lam, and Jason Wu wowed crowds with delicate microflorals. Floral dresses also made a splash in London. Erdem Moraglioglu featured a white gown with bright green and blue flowers. Fall bridesmaids will hold onto an Indian summer with bright, feminine, and flowery dresses, and non-traditional brides will don a white dress with floral accents.

2. Demure Necklines
This fall women’s apparel will have rising necklines. Oscar de la Renta, Preen, and Rodarte featured Peter Pan collars, jeweled and bateau necklines. Brides and bridesmaids will be delighted by this trend towards practical and modest coverage.

3. Fur and Feathers
Michael Kors, Prabal Gurung, and Naeem Khan had lovely gowns with feathered skirts.
There were decadent ball gowns and flowing column gowns. Feathers soften any silhouette and can create a variety of looks from a dreamy, ethereal bride to something a little more dramatic.
Several designers including Carolina Herrera, doo.Ri, Altuzarra had fur and faux fur accents. Instead of a shawl or wrap, fall brides can keep warm with a thick and luxurious stole.

4. Out of Africa
Instead of rich autumn tones like sangria and chocolate, several designers adopted a palette of golds and tans for their runway shows. J. Mendel used soft tones reminiscent of the African savannah in abstract geometric patterns. Proenza Schouler featured similarly tribal inspired looks and Michael Kors utilized animal prints. Fall brides may choose non-white alternatives such as pale beige.

5. White with a Twist
Fashion Week Fall 2012 continues with fashion’s fascination with white. However, spring’s lacy delicate shade has be replaced with a harder, more graphic edge. Jill Stuart had several bold black and white patterns, while Chadwick Bell and Tory Burch had belted white dresses.
