How Much is Too Much For Wedding Photography?

Affordable and expensive wedding photographers

After the cake has been eaten, the flowers have wilted, the wedding dress hung up and the honeymoon is round tripped, all is said done, most of the time you are only left with images of your wedding to help you remember all the memories, emotions, laughter, tears and joy. But how much are you willing to spend on wedding photography? This is a great question. Wedding photography prices can range anywhere from $1500 to over $7,000.

Why such a big price gap?

We are all familiar with the saying that you get what you pay for – wedding photography is a little like that. In many instances, more expensive wedding photography is usually with skilled photographers and offer higher quality and service. These photographers are often at the top of their game and create truly memorable, and sometimes one of a kind photos.

However, this is not to say that all wedding photographers who charge less aren’t just as skilled, talented and competent as the more expensive ones, it just means that they don’t have as much experience as some of the other seasoned photographers. In some cases, their client base is low because they are just starting out and/or their marketing may be minimal. As with any photographer, you need to check his/her portfolio first to see if they are the right person for you.

As bride and grooms contemplate and weigh the possible pros and cons of various prices photographers, most just want the best possible wedding photographs that a reasonable amount of money can buy. However, some are happy to pay for the best.

But in the case of affordable wedding photography, it starts with what you are willing to pay for and then you can go from there. The great thing about photographers is that you can sample the goods before you buy the whole thing. After checking out their portfolio, you can determine if their pricing is reasonable enough for you.

Like I mentioned before, you get what you pay for a lot of time with wedding photographers. If you’re too price conscious, you may end up with less than stellar results. Although, it’s not impossible.
