Photo Faux Pas

Here are three accidental photo faux pas and how to avoid them:

1. Closing Your Eyes During the Photo

Wedding photographers take several shots of each portrait, but all too often, someone still has closed eyes. Or even worse, the dreaded sleepy half-opened eyes.

Solution: An old trick that some photographers use is to ask everyone to close their eyes and open them at the count of three.

2. Walking Into Other People's Photos

You're making a bee line to the dessert table when you're suddenly blinded with a flash. You stagger back and face a bemused photographer and a few frustrated people. You mutter your apologies and walk away as fast as possible, unintentionally walking into another photograph. Hasn't this happened to everyone?

Solution: Not only watch where you're going, but keep your ears open as well. Many professional photographers will speak up when you've moved into their field of vision.

3. The Wardrobe Malfunction

While never to Janet Jackson proportions, a peeping bra strap can be extremely embarrassing in the official portrait.

Solution: Each time you go to the bathroom, don't forget to give yourself a once over in the bathroom mirror. And make sure your clothes fit very well.
