Red Carpet Tips
It's been one week since the Golden Globes and we've learned a ton about photo tips from watching hits and misses on the red carpet.
1. Lighting, lighting, lighting
Check your dress in all lightings. It seems every awards ceremony that rolls around we notice the unfortunate celebrity (we'll name no names) who wore a dress that turned out to be too sheer in bright lighting.
2. Killer Heels
We think if you deserve an Oscar if you can smile like a natural when your feet are killing you. There are a variety of techniques to help you break in your shoes. Some people advocate walking up and down the stairs with the thickest set of your socks or wearing panty hose the day of. But mostly, it's just time.
3. Proper Undergarments
When your under those bright lights, also check for unsightly bulges that may not be apparent in regular lighting. Pick a bra that offers great support and enough coverage.
4. Double sided Tape
This is de riguer if your dress is daring (e.g. strapless or V-neck). It would be terrible if you accidentally fell out of your dress when you bent over to pick something up.
5. Touch ups
Weddings are emotional events. Tears and some sweating are almost mandatory. Make sure your wear antiperspirant and bring lots of pressed powder.
