The vibe of New Orleans is equal parts laid-back South hospitality, French sophistication, and the African-American energy to create something greater than the sum of its parts. It is the same city of Anne Rice's vampires Lestat and Louis, the Disney Princess Tiana, and A Streetcar Named Desire.

Along music, food, and alcohol, you'll also find amazing venues in 18th & 19th century architecture.

Famous festivals like Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest bring in tourists by the millions so this might not be the best time to get hitched due to the difficulty of finding accommodations. If you like festivities, the city also hosts numerous smaller festivals and events like the French Quarter Festival, Creole Tomato Festival, Satchmo SummerFest, the Essence Festival hosted by the magazine, Halloween parading and costume balls, Saint Patrick's Day and Saint Joseph's Day parading, Southern Decadence, and so many more.

New Orleans has a vibrant food culture; it has wonderful, fresh, and affordable sea food. There are wonderful sandwiches like po boys and muffaletta as well as stews such as gumbo and jambalaya. For dessert, there is banana foster and beignets.
