Summer is filled with barbecues, lounging by the beach or the pool, and going to weddings. June, named after Juno the Roman goddess of marriage, is still the most popular month to tie the knot. Here are some common summer wedding venues:

The Beach

Whether it's the shore of the ocean or a lake, there's something ancient about getting married by a large body of water.

Under a Tree

A tree or a grove of trees creates a natural focal point that makes for a great altar. It also provides shade.

Before a Barbecue

While this is strictly not a venue, many wedding receptions do incorporate summer favorites like ice cold lemonade, barbecue meats and vegetables, and ice box cake.

At a Destination

According to the Knot, 20% of couples now get hitched at a destination wedding. If your family and friends are scattered across many different places, it may even be more affordable and practical to choose a location that is central to the majority of your loved ones.
