Wedding Venues in Los Angeles

Five places to consider

By Natalie Tsang
September 26, 2011

The City of Angels is a magical place. Filled with the glitz and glamour of Hollywood and immortalized as a seedy underbelly of crime by Raymond Chandler, LA is a city of contrasts, diversity, and art. With a thriving fashion, art, and film industry, LA is teaming with creative people and a great place to look for vendors. These people are used to catering for the stars! Los Angeles also enjoys plenty of sunshine and only has about thirty five days of rain a year.

Architecture

Fantastic for lovers of art and history, the LA area boasts over two hundred historical buildings, many of which can be used for wedding venues. Architectural styles run the gamut from the Bullocks Wilshire, a former luxury mall built in the art deco style, to numerous buildings in the Spanish-esque Mission style, and even a Byzantine style dome built in 1862. There are also sunken gardens and French chateaus.

Cityscape

Los Angeles is a gorgeous and glittering city at night. It's perfect for an evening wedding from an upper story venue or even a rooftop. You can have your ceremony indoors, but move the party outside. Many months of the year, Los Angeles is warm enough for strapless wedding dresses so you don't have to worry about covering up.

City Escape

It seems unlikely but there are lovely natural spots less than an hour from the city. Los Angeles offer meadows, vistas, mountains, as well as desert. You can have top of the line catering and furnishings delivered to an old Californian ranch. Trade palm trees for eucalyptus groves in Lauren Canyon, or stage a rustic wedding with a breathtaking view of LA. There are numerous restaurants tucked in the hills that offer just the right combination of luxury without getting stuck in LA traffic.

Entertainment

The Los Angeles area is packed with amusement parks, aquariums, and museums. Disneyland offers three styles of weddings. And of course, there's Hollywood. Recreate your favorite movie, TV, or reality TV scene by picking a location that's in the scene or someplace right across the street from it.

The Country Club

The number of private and country clubs in the Los Angeles area number in the hundreds. For a fantastically exclusive wedding in a special location check with your friends and family to see if anyone you know is a member. Some places will not even charge a rental fee if you know someone who is a member. No membership, no worries, some will still rent you the space. These places have beautiful furnishings and decor.
